Spotify has stopped working for hundreds of customers

My boyfriend texted me these dreaded 4 phrases: “Is your Spotify down?” Certain sufficient his, mine and hundreds of different customers’ Spotify accounts look like down and out in the mean time, with Downdetector recording over 10,000 stories from customers.

Spotify is outwardly engaged on the issue. The account, Spotify Standing, shared an update on X at 9:45 AM on Monday, “We’re conscious of some points proper now and are checking them out!”

Replace, December 15 2025, 10:39AM ET: Spotify has not acknowledged what the reason for the outage was, however the service’s official standing account is now claiming all points have been resolved.
